BigBuilder Online reports that national builder D.R. Horton has reported a net loss of $1.3 billion for the first quarter of the year.

The only national builder in the Oklahoma City Metro, "Doctor" Horton had pulled only 58 permits in the Oklahoma City Metro according to The Builder Report, placing them third in total permits to date for the year, with Home Creations and Ideal Homes ahead of them with 132 and 95 permits, respectively.

I spoke with their local VP of Sales last week and she indicated that Horton projected they would build 300 homes in the Oklahoma City Metro for 2008. With 1/3 of the year behind them, I'd say they'd better burn it.
