On Thursday, I was afforded a great opportunity to be in the studio with Mayor Mick Cornett to shoot two new commercials for the Defy The Trends campaign. It's something we've had in the works and under wraps for several months now, and those of us involved in the campaign were both thrilled and honored to have him join us in spreading the good news.

It was most-impressive to see him work. Granted, he's a veteran in front of the camera, and certainly well beyond just a script-reader. Perhaps that is what marked these commercials seem so natural to begin with; he didn't want a script. We simply had a short list of questions to ask him on-camera, and had a few statistics on hand to keep it factual, and he did his thing.

He's an excellent man to have as Captain at the helm of this ship known as Oklahoma City, and I'm proud to be on board.
