Last night, the Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association bid farewell to its home of over 40 years. Not only did it serve as the headquarters of Oklahoma's largest home builder association, but The Regal Room has hosted some of the most prestigious events throughout the last four decades of Oklahoma City's history.

Anyone who's been to any significant number of business luncheons, weddings, or political events in OKC has probably been to the Regal Room and seen its classic, carpeted walls, enjoyed Ned's Catering, and danced upon the wood dance floor adorned by the quentesential disco ball spinning sixteen feet above.

It's been home, and will remain dear to the hearts of many in the residential construction industry. And while I enjoyed my time there, I'm looking forward to a little more of this...

Dang. Y’all might would’ve gotten a little warm-and-fuzzy press out of the farewell, if I’da known about it, and wuz there. ... On the other hand, I reckon y’all do need some time to y’alls’ selves sometime. grin
