In a somewhat irrelevant choice of an AP-run by The Journal Record, some credit-worthy builders around the country are being squeezed by shifts in banking conditions. Most local builders I know, myself included, remain committed to banks who not only reciprocate the commitment, but who are privately-held and altogether independent of any federal assistance.

The last thing I want to be saying is, as Earl Snyder, a builder in Englewood, FL, is quoted:

Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. demanded repayment in 60 days after it took over a bank where he had a $2.5 million line of credit, even though he had a top credit score and was not in default.

Are you a cult builder? church cult? I liked your houses but the names of your plans and your connection to your church all over your site had me envisioning living around a christian cult who would be intolerant of other people.

Some builders use square footage numbers to reference their plans, some use kids’ names, others use obscure towns in England.  I just simply used something that symbolized something important to me, which are books of the Bible.

As an independent builder with my name on the sign, my clients want to know the person behind the company from whom they’re making most significant purchase.  To many, my ethics, and thus the foundations from which those ethics are derived, are just as important as my experience and financial stability as a builder.

I think anyone who knows me would hardly call me cultish, let alone intolerant.  Nor will I accuse you of intolerance despite the wording of your question being somewhat insinuative of intolerance towards builders who happen to be Christians.

Thanks for reading the blog.

Hope ya didn’t hurt yourself with that leap, Mr. or Ms. Weirdness.

I must admit, the comment above is probably the strangest of assumptions that I’ve read in quite some time.  A face-to-face introduction would, I’m sure, alleviate any doubt about your beliefs and the unlikeliness of your imposing them on anyone.
